Bendability with Amy Guion!!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!  I know I keep saying this but the 2012 Las Vegas Pole Expo was filled with so many wonderful things that I HAVE to share with everyone that was not there:)!  Today we feature Bendability with Amy Guion!!

Not only is Amy Guion an awesome Polefessional and such a lil' cutie but she is also extremely talented and flexible!

At the Pole Expo we were all lucky enough to be able to enjoy Amy Guion's FREE workshops on both days!  She did a Morning Stretch workshop on both days that were PACKED with people wanting to get their stretch on with Amy:)!

A little about Amy straight from her Bendability Fitness website:):

Amy is a classically trained dancer and has been apart of Pole Fitness since 2007.  She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelors in natural science (a program that emphasizes anatomy, kinesiology, exercise science and nutrition).  Her background has lead her to create her own series of instructional DVD's to help us all increase our strength and flexibility and assist in injury prevention and recovery!

I have already put in an order for her DVD Set and can't wait to start!  From her very educational workshop at the Pole Expo I know this will be well worth it for my goals in strengthening and increasing my flexibility.  I'm excited and will keep you all posted on results!!!  If you are interested or want to check out what she has available her website is:

http://www.amyguion.com/

Check her out!  She has cute apparel as well that we all got while at the Pole Expo too:)!  You can also check out the Bendability You Tube channel at:

http://www.youtube.com/user/bendabilityfitness

The Bendability You Tube channel will give you a little taste of what her DVD set will have to offer:).

Get it on and have a great day!

Arbonne with Pamela Malone Hughes!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!!  It's Wednesday and yes just a bit more recap and highlights from the awesome 2012 Las Vegas Pole Expo!  While attending and being a vendor at the Pole Expo we meet so many wonderful friends and fellow vendors aka friends as well;)!  Today we would like to highlight our next door neighbors throughout the complete Pole Expo, Arbonne with Pamela Malone Hughes!  Not only were they, Pamela and her husband, awesome people but they had such an awesome product to offer called Arbonne!

We were lucky to score some samples and gave it a try when we finally got home and settled down....and found the lost samples in the mound of laundry and new goodies we brought back from the expo lol!  I was one of the lucky one that got to try out the RE9 Advanced line and let me tell you I hate spending so much time on these types of things!  But I figured, really...what do you have to lose!  I gave it a try for a week and fell in LOVE!!  They say you will see a difference in 24 hours and I was a bit skeptical of that because that is fast.  I didn't necessarily see a difference (my fault, I should have paid more attention to that LOL) but felt a WORLD of difference after the week and even the first day!  it did take me some getting used to and labeling on what went first, second and what not but after the second day I was pro since there is a regimen for the morning and night and soon enough it took no time!  My skin feel great!  I have used many moisturizers in the past and all seemed to leave me quite oily and I really thought that my face was just extra oily but now am starting to think that it was the type of product I was using.  The Arbonne RE9 Advanced line left me feeling Fab all day and all night:)!  After I fell in love I looked into their products more and saw that they had a Men's line too!  Yay!  If you are interested or even have questions go ahead and contact Pamela on her Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pamela.m.hughes.92 and she would be more than happy to help and explain more about this wonderful product!

Ladies, it is NEVER too late or too early to start a regimen like this, she will show you success photos that prove that!

Well, take care and happy Hump Day!!!

Las Vegas Pole Expo Classic!!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!  The 2012 Las Vegas Pole Expo was awesome and had a variety of workshops, vendors, shows and last but not least the Pole Classic!

The Pole Classic was a competition with Pole Artists that wowed everyone!  They were all unique in their own way, had their own flare and were very creative with their routines!  On behalf of Just Pole, we would like to congratulate the awardees of the 2012 Pole Classic!  They were awesome although it was a close call and I'm sure the judges had a hard time since every single contestant was GREAT!  The winner's for the Women's Division were:

First Place:  Lindsay Green!
Second Place:  Tiffany Rose Mockler
Third Place:  Celeste Ayers

These women performed with such great and kept everyone's eye's on them the whole time;)!  And now for the Men's Division Winner's:

First Place:  Jimi Blu
Second Place:  Brandon Grimm
Third Place:  Alexandr Mango

These guy's had such talent and strength!  And the overall winner of the 2012 Pole Classic was:

Jimi Blu

Stealing the crowd and the judges with his more than impressive performance!  Jimi Blu added comedy into his routine which made it so creative.  Jimi is in his 50's - 60's and was still able to rock his performance and win overall!  Now that is MOTIVATION!  Pole is for anyone at any age (if you are physically able to;) )!

We are trying to gather more video from the Pole Classic and will have it posted on our You Tube channel at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv5vX4w50MoWEz319fW0MiQ?feature=mhee.  Check it out when you get a chance and see why it was such a hard decision for the judges and why these contestants won!

Have a great Thursday!!!

Alethea Austin's Hot Tricks Workshop!!!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!!!  More recap on the awesome weekend we had at the 2012 Las Vegas Pole Expo!!  Today's topic...Alethea Austin's Hot Tricks!

Going into Alethea's Hot Tricks Workshop I was a tad bit nervous and excited about what she was going to have us do!  Hot Tricks.....hmmmmmm......?  Honestly, I had NO idea what was going to happen!  The workshop started with a nice warm-up consisting of some stretches from her DVD's to get us ready for pole.  After the warm-up, so then explained what the workshop was all about:).  She explained that her Hot Tricks workshops were not based on the crazy athletic moves like the Iron X for 10 minutes but more on the Hotness you add to a move.  So, for example, crowd pleasers, moves that get people cheering and catch their attention.  With that being said, she started us off!  After that lil speech I was even more excited because Alethea just oozes with sexy and I was excited to see what she had for us for an hour!  Alethea taught us how to add things like Body Rolls, Body Waves, etc to moves like the Caterpillar Climb, Pole Sit, etc.  It was awesome and harder than you would think!  We can all Body Roll or do a Body Wave but can we do a SEXY Body Wave / Body Roll while doing the Caterpillar Climb????  For me, not so much!  She was able to give us tips on how to get these moves down and modifications to get used to it before going into the actual move right away.  She was great at making sure we all knew what we were doing and also gave clear instructions on how to do everything leaving everyone confident with doing the move on their own:).

She was awesome and any workshop she does I would recommend to take because I know it will be worth your while and SUPER FUN!!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

Estee Zakar's Pole Conditioning & Strength Tricks!!!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!!!  More Las Vegas Pole Expo Recap for you!  Today I am recapping on Estee's Pole Conditioning & Strength Tricks Workshop!!!

For all who have not heard of Estee....OMG!  Estee Zakar is AMAZING!  One look at her and you know she has strength and after watching her perform, even though you expected it, you are amazed at the strength this cute petite woman has!!  Not too mention, she also has the sweetest and most energetic personality.  Her workshop was one of the first workshop's on Saturday morning and let's just say...thank goodness we did not go out the night before because it was intense in all the right areas:)!  She started the workshop off with a warm up consisting of plyo (jumping lunges, etc.) and some stretches to help us get going and that she did!  After this so called warm up (some thing some people would call 'The Workout' lol) we moved on to the conditioning.  At first we all despise conditioning but grow to love it because we know how IMPORTANT it is!  Estee showed us a lot of pole conditioning we could add to our routines to help us strengthen for certain moves such as the Shoulder Mount, Iron X, etc.  She also told us that she sometimes brings her Personal Training clients over to the pole for strengthening too because she thinks you get so much from using the pole for strengthening:).  She was such a great instructor making sure that everyone got the help they needed and answered all questions anyone had.  Providing modifications for the conditioning as well as properly demonstrating how to do the moves.  All this is important because at times we may think we are doing a specific move correctly when we could be endangering ourselves.  She made everyone feel comfortable with the level they were at which is also a great quality for an instructor and in Estee's case...a Polefessional!

Overall, Estee's workshop was amazing!  I almost couldn't walk after all the lunges (my fault, I should work on those ;) ) but I left her workshop feeling like I learned sooo much and felt more confident going into the advanced moves she went over!  If you ever get the chance take a workshop or class from Estee....it is more than worth it!

have a happy Tuesday!!!

Marlo's Pole Groove Workshop!!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!!  Still continuing with a week of recap from the 2012 Las Vegas Pole Expo!!  Today we will recap on Marlo's Pole Groove Workshop!!!

Well, Marlo's Pole Groove workshop kicked off our weekend of awesomeness just right!  Her workshop was the first workshop on Friday morning and even after a Red Eye flight straight in.....I was extremely excited for her class and pumped up to learn ANYTHING from her:)!  She started her Pole Groove workshop with a nice and sex-i-full stretch and warm up leading into her mini spinny routine.  Spinny routine?  What's that?  Marlo's created a routine that constantly took you around the pole with a combination of Dip & Lifts, spins and 'falls'.  It had such a great flow to and looked awesome when she did it (I have yet to master the flow part!).  Her workshop was great because it was truly an all level class that everyone could take something away valuable.  After we went through the spinny routine we all got a turn to do the whole thing through, of course with watching her at the same time, and then she threw in a lil' freestyle at the end which got all the sexy ladies in the workshop going:).

I know I have said this many times before but this woman is awesome and not only has a great outline for each of her workshops or classes but she is such a great help and motivator!  If needed, she will give you the help you need and answer questions about whatever issues you may be having.  And she always cheered everyone on which helps when you are first learning something new:).  Regardless, polers, when you get a chance take a class or workshop with her if you ever have a chance.....truly a great experience:)!!

Have a great Monday:)!!

Alethea Austin's Floorwork!!!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!  More recap on the Las Vegas Pole Expo........and Floorwork with Alethea Austin it is!!!

We were honored to actually take Alethea Austin's Floorwork Workshop to get hands on tips and 3d viewing of how to do some of her speciality Floorwork moves!  Her Floorwork and Sexy Essential DVD's are AWESOME but having her right in front of you and answering questions and giving constructive criticism is even better!!  Not only did she go over a bunch of her signature Floorwork moves but she also went over her break down of Body Waves and Rolls on the floor as well:)!  It was great that she took each move demonstrated it, broke it down and then went through it with us:).  After she saw that everyone kind of got the hang of it she walked around and further helped each person.  She also made sure to provide sexy ways to get into each move and also sexy ways to get out, we all know we usually just plop out of the moves but it's nice to see our options;)!  She went over her signature move such as the above move in the photo which turns into a split over the shoulder (may fav!) as well as Barrel Body Rolls and her oh so sexy Fish Flop!  She showed us so much more and I tell you, I feel a lot more confident doing all of these moves on my own now that I know I am doing them correctly.  Moves such as the Candle Stick and Ass on a Platter are very scary to get into on your own but she broke them down really well to where I feel a lot more comfy trying them at home by myself:)!

If you ever have a chance to take Alethea's Floorwork Workshop do it!  it is very beneficial and as Alethea says, this can help build your foundation for pole work as it did for her:).  When doing all the Floorwork you need to learn how to control each move and when you slow it down you will need that control and core even MORE!  That's why Alethea is so HOT!  If you cannot make her Floorwork Workshop anytime soon, go to her website http://www.aletheaaustin.com/ and get her Floorwork and Sexy Essentials DVD Set to spice up your Pole routine and work on your core in a very sexy way;)!

Have a Sexy Thursday and more recaps to come!!

Marlo Fisken's A$$ Class!

Aloha Polers and Pole Supporters!!!  We all, I'm sure, have been known to shake some booty whether it be on the pole, with the pole or anywhere!!!  But have we ever tossed it?  Dropped it?  Are you confused with the terminology?  LOL!  If all you have ever down was shake your booty than Marlo Fisken's A$$ Class is a must to explore your booty moves and widen the variety!

We had the honor of taking this awesome class and learning so much!  I really had NO IDEA what to expect but knew I was in for a treat because Marlo is all about the booty!!  This class made us laugh, break out of our shells, sweat, engage, toss, throw and get crazy!  It was an awesome class and as Marlo says, "Life lessons learned!"  Words like toss, throw, drop, P-Pop, V Monster, and more were added to my A$$ vocabulary and move dictionary.  We also learned moves that were stationary and moving forward and side to side.  We learned moves done in a squat position, on our knees, in a headstand and on the wall!  So many places and styles you can move that booty!!  If you ever get the chance to take an A$$ Class from Marlo it will be worth every penny and you will walk out a new person LOL!  The possibilities are now endless.....THANKS MARLO!!!

Drop it like it's hot and have a bootiful day!!!

Burlesque with Suwasit & Special Guest Carolyn Pace!!

Aloha Polers and  Pole Supporters!!

I hope you all had a FAB weekend like our Just Pole Team and many others did at the Las Vegas Pole Expo!!!  This time around we all made sure to take a lot of workshops from all the awesome Polefessionals there so we could share some of the things we learned!  One of the workshops we took was Burlesque with Suwasit!

This workshop was so much fun!  Suwasit is such a sweetie and truly shows his passion for Burlesque which made the class even better!  Suwasit brought a special guest who is very talented in Burlesque and the essence of Burlesque all together.  her name was Carolyn Pace and she was AMAZING!  They both would do demonstrations and we would all be blown away and almost forget that we were in a workshop!  There were many things learned from this workshop but the main thing Suwasit wanted to get across was that you can be fluid in all these 'Burlesque' movements but if you don't have that look and eye contact then it is almost taken down a couple notches.  he was right!  During their demonstrations you could see that look in their eyes that made the performance true burlesque!  If any of you have the chance to ever take a Burlesque class or any class at that from Suwasit you will be amazed and it is worth every penny and then some;)!  Not to mention, this can all be applied to you and your pole routine or performances for the added awesomeness:)!

Well, there is SOOO much more to come to recap the awesome weekend at the Las Vegas Pole Expo so stay tuned and check out our FB Page for more as well:).

Tippy Thursday's: Stay Hydrated!!

Aloha Polers, it's Thursday!!!!  This week's Tippy Thursday's tip is to stay hydrated!!

We all know that Pole is a great work out and we can get out sweat on for the day while having an awesome time!!  Well, we still need to remember to stay hydrated while doing so.  I know for a fact and from experience that a lot of us, even while doing other fitness formats, tend  to forget about hydration throughout the workout and tank some water afterwards.  Big NO NO!  By staying hydrated throughout the workout you are helping your body maintain itself better.  Because you are sweating (and I know sometimes it doesn't seem like you are by your body is;) ) and water is leaving your systems (more likely taking away some toxins as well!) you need to replace it:).  Not only is water there for hydration but it is also extremely good for you in so many ways!!  Here are a couple of reasons why water is so good for you:

  1. If you drink water 30 minutes before a meal it will make you feel fuller therefore lowering your calorie intake:)
  2. It also minimizes the chances of colon cancer by 45%, breast cancer by 75% and bladder cancer by 50%!!!!
  3. It maintains the volume and viscosity of blood, which prevents blood thickening and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases like hypertension and heart attacks:)
  4. It flushes out toxins through urination and sweat!:)
  5. Helps maintain the health of your digestion system:)
Keep water by your side all the time and nourish your body with it;)!!!  Love your body so it can take better care of you!!  Have a great Thursday and hopefully see you tomorrow at the Las Vegas Pole Expo!!!!!!

Technique Tuesday's: Pole Pull-Up's!!!

Aloha Polers, it's Tuesday!  Back at it and hopefully ready for this awesome week and weekend to come!!!!  This week's Technique Tuesday's strengthening move is the simple yet crucial Pole Pull-Up!!  The Pole Pull-Up seems easy as is but if you are used to regular Pull-Ups, taught wring how to do a Pull-Up or new to Pull-Ups all together you may go into them completely the wrong way and end up making it harder for yourself which can be discouraging as well as possibly injury your pretty little self and we DO NOT want to do that;)!  We are going to explain how to do a proper and effective Pole Pull-Up which will in return benefit you in Pole TREMENDOUSLY!!!  You will gain the strength to be able to pull yourself up into an invert instead of inverting from the ground and even from the middle of the pole be able to pull up into all sorts of awesome moves!  Well, let's get to it:

To start the Pole Pull-Up we want to start from the ground.  With the Pole directly in front of you and you on your Tippy Toes place your hands at about the same level as your face.  Your hands will be in the Hand Shake Grip position (Thumb on one side and all of your other fingers on the opposite side of the pole).  From here, roll your shoulders up and back slightly pushing your chest forward.  Then, without jumping up into it, pull your body up.  if you do not leave the floor it is okay!  You will eventually be able to lift yourself off the ground.  When I first started doing the Pole Pull-Up I looked like I wasn't doing anything because from start to finish it looked like I was in the same position but looks can be deceiving because the whole time I was working out those very muscles I needed to work to get into the Pole Pull-Up!  Try to hold yourself either as long as you can of 3 seconds to start.  Then slowly and safely lower yourself on to the ground.  Repeat switching your top hand and doing each side at least 3 times each side to ensure balancing the 'Good' and 'Bad' sides;)!

As I said before, please do no get discouraged if you do not leave the floor during this at the beginning because if you truly work at it you will be doing Pole Pull-Ups in no time!  I was NEVER able to do a Pull-p in my life until I started doing the Pole Pull-Ups during Pole.  After that I can actually do regular Pull-Ups as well!  This was a HUGE accomplishment for me because I was totally weak in my upper body strength.  So, with hard work and dedication you can TOTALLY get this move down therefore opening so many beautiful windows to new moves and tricks:)!!

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Stretchy Sunday's: Ashva Sanchalanasana!

Aloha Poler's, it's ALREADY Sunday!  Thank goodness tomorrow's a holiday for most of us;)!

This week's Stretchy Sunday's Stretch is a great Yoga stretch called the Ashva Sanchalanasana normally known as the low lunge.  This stretch benefits the calves, hamstrings, glutes, quads, lats, shoulders and back of your neck!  Wow, talk about a beneficial stretch!!  Let's get started on it:

Start in a straight arm plank.  From here, go into a downward facing dog pose.  Take 1 or 2 deep breaths and push your left foot up into the air while trying to keep your hips horizontal to the floor.  Slowly and smoothly start the bring your left foot back down while bending your knee and bringing your left foot and knee in front of your torso in a lunge position.  Make sure your knee is not bent in front of your foot but either right above it a little behind it.  From this position slowly and smoothly lower your right knee to the floor and bringing the top of your right foot flat against or horizontal to the floor as well.  While in this position make sure your hands are touching the floor at the sides of your feet, shoulders are rolled back and down, head and chest facing forward (arching your back a little will help) while taking nice and long deep breaths.  After about 3 - 5 deep breaths in this stretch place the ball of your right foot on the floor and place both palms on the floor while pushing your left foot with a bent knee back into your starting straight arm plank position.  From this position, take it into this stretch for your right side.  Once on each side will be enough so after doing once on each side there will be no need for repeating.

That's it!  Very simple yet extremely beneficial stretch that we should all have in our stretching and flexibility routines:).  The most important things to do while stretching and I'll say this many times is to listen to your body (if it hurts modify it to fit you or do not do it at all), drink lots of water, engage your core and breath nice and deeply while focusing on the stretch.  If you follow these as well as the correct way to do a particular stretch you will benefit the most!  Well, have a great Stretchy Sunday:)

Polefessional Saturday's: Natasha Wang!

Aloha Polers, it's Polefessional Saturday and this week's Polefessional is the awesome Natasha Wang!

Sponsored by X-Pole, Natasha is known world wide as a Polefessional with such strength and beauty during her performances:).  With all the training and competitions she has been through, she has gained much knowledge of pole and all it's techniques as well!  Not only is she a pole competitor, she also instructs classes all over the world!  Here is a short a sweet bio from her website http://natashawang.com/bio/ on how she began her awesome journey with pole:

"I came into pole dancing purely by accident.
In 2004, a girlfriend who’d seen pole dancing on Oprah dragged me to an intro class at S Factor. I’d never been comfortable with exhibiting overt sexiness, so it wasn’t exactly love at first fireman spin, but it was a titillating curiosity; a little secret I could hide under my work clothes and my public-facing good girl persona.
I don’t have a gymnastics or dance background, so pole dancing was also an opportunity to be that dancer I’d always fantasize being — without any of the judgment or pressure to be perfect.
I joined Leigh Ann Reilly’s Be Spun gym in 2008 and saw what was possible with the human body. Women and men contorted into unimaginable shapes, instructors and students seemingly levitated. These human beings were achieving the impossible – and I knew I wanted just a little bit of their superpowers. I began training every day, several hours a day.
What started off as something I did with friends for fun once a week, turned into a full-fledged love affair. I began competing in 2009 with little fanfare. Then I joined the cast of Kelly Yvonne’s Girl Next Door show and discovered the art of pole, in which emotion, storytelling, physical prowess and vulnerability came together on stage to create something magical: pole art.
Under Kelly’s mentorship and coaching, I started winning my first titles — first East Meets West/Tri-Pole Challenge’s “Miss Pole-AM 2010,” then the 2010 California Pole Dance Championship followed by the USPDF West Coast Championships that same year. This past April 29, 2011, I cinched the USPDF National Championships title.
Since then, I’ve put my nine-year career as a publicist on hold to embark on what surely will be a strange, surreal journey that will take me around the world. I invite you to join me on the road as this self-professed ‘regular gal’ starts a new chapter of her life. "

Talk about 'meant to be'!  A lot of people try pole out for the same reason but only the people with such passion and love for it achieve so much:)!  Natasha is yet another awesome inspiration in the Pole world that keeps us going when we watch her perform!
Have a great Saturday!!!
